Earlier this week, the Chicago Bulls hired former Denver Nuggets executive Arturas Karnisovas as their new vice president of basketball operations. New on the job, Karnisovas is expected to conduct interviews for the Bulls' general manager opening.

Per ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the list of candidates that will be interviewed will include several assistant general managers across the league. Candidates such as Calvin Booth from the Nuggets, Marc Eversley from the Philadelphia 76ers, Mark Hughes of the Los Angeles Clippers and Matt Lloyd of the Orlando Magic will all be interviewed according to Wojnarowski.

Booth started his front office career in 2012 as a scout for the New Orleans Pelicans and then became the Nuggets' assistant GM in 2017.

Hughes spent several seasons as an assistant coach in the NBA before becoming a scout for the New York Knicks. He then became the director of player personnel and then finally, in 2017, the assistant GM for Los Angeles.

Lloyd has spent the last eight seasons as the assistant GM of the Magic after spending the last 13 years with the Bulls. Five of which he spent as the director of college scouting.

As for Karnisovas, the former pro basketball player is replacing John Paxson in his old position. Paxson will move to a more advisory role after holding the VP of basketball operations position since 2009. He also served as the team's general manager prior to that starting in 2003.

As well as over a decade and a half as an NBA executive, Karnisovas was one of the best players in the EuroLeague during his playing career from 1987 until 2002. The Lithuanian small forward was awarded the European Player of the Year by FIBA in 1996.
