An assistant coach on the Chicago Bulls thinks the team can be a playoff team in 2019-20.

The Bulls drafted Coby White and Daniel Gafford in the 2019 NBA Draft. They also signed Thaddeus Young, Luke Kornet and Tomas Satoransky in free agency.

Chicago's core is headlined by Zach LaVine, Lauri Markkanen, Otto Porter Jr. and Wendell Carter Jr.

“I think we have enough now to be a playoff team,” the Bulls coach told Keith Smith of Real GM. “Our kids will get better, our vets are already good. Otto (Porter Jr.) is really going to help us a lot. We got a couple months of it last year, but all season that will be good. I worry about a young guard leading things, but we’ve got enough to get him through it.”

The Bulls, who haven't made the playoffs since the 2016-17 season, won only 22 games last campaign. There's a chance Chicago could sneak into the seventh or eighth seed in the East next season if everything goes right.

Zach LaVine has established himself as one of the best young scorers in the league. The high-flyer averaged 23.7 points per game last season. Lauri Markkanen is a rising stretch forward in the NBA who is going to continue to get better with age. He put up 18.7 points and 9.0 rebounds in 52 games in 2018-19.

The Bulls were also much better on offense after acquiring Otto Porter Jr. from the Washington Wizards last season. The swingman is a great 3-and-D guy for Chicago, and he could be the X-factor to elevate the team to playoff contention.

It would be great for the NBA if the Bulls could get back to the postseason since they're a staple franchise of the league.
