With the start of the 2018-19 season drawing near, several teams around the NBA are still searching for ways to bolster their rosters. One such team is the Chicago Bulls, who have agreed to a training camp deal with Kaiser Gates, according to a report from Darnell Mayberry of The Athletic.

Gates, now 21 years of age, is a 6-foot-8 forward who went undrafted after three years of collegiate play with Xavier. The Georgia native declared for the NBA Draft after his junior season.

Gates made 18 appearances with the Musketeers last season, racking up averages of 7.2 points and 4.6 rebounds. Though he was the only junior on the squad, Gates and Xavier managed to claim a No. 1 tournament seed for the first time in school history.

The Bulls brought Gates aboard for this year's Summer League in Las Vegas, where he averaged 6.7 points on 35.0 percent shooting from the field (40.0 percent from beyond the arc) and 1.7 rebounds in 14.0 minutes per outing.

In a 101-93 loss to the Atlanta Hawks during Summer League play, Gates scored 14 points in 15 minutes off the bench thanks to four 3-pointers.

According to a report from Amico Hoops, Gates was among a dozen or so players who worked out for the Atlanta Hawks last week.

Gates likely won't make the Bulls' regular-season roster, but he could be a candidate to join their G League squad.
