The injury bug is plaguing the Chicago Bulls right now, with multiple key members of the rotation set to hit the sideline. It was announced on Monday that DeMar DeRozan would be entering the league's health and safety protocols, and the Bulls' update on the injured Alex Caruso won't do anything to settle the nerves of the fanbase.

According to K.C. Johnson, Caruso's hamstring injury will keep him out of Monday night's clash with the Denver Nuggets, and will see him miss time beyond that, too.

Billy Donovan told reporters that Caruso's hamstring injury will be re-evaluated in a week, signifying the team's beloved free-agent acquisition won't be able to take the court at all this week. The Bulls have key matchups with Denver Nuggets, Cleveland Cavaliers, and Miami Heat on the docket for this week, so Caruso's absence will be felt by the squad.

Caruso suffered the injury during Saturday night's win over the Brooklyn Nets. He logged just eight minutes of action in the game before exiting, and he did not return.

The 27-year-old has been a key piece for the Bulls in 2021-22, averaging a career-high 28.6 minutes per night across 23 games. The Texas A&M product is averaging 8.5 points per game and is also providing career bests in assists (4.1) and rebounds (3.7).  Additionally, Caruso is the NBA leader with 2.2 steals per game. That type of value on both ends of the floor is hard to replace, and with the Bulls also down DeRozan, it could be a rough stretch for the team.
