In a precautionary move, the Chicago Bulls announced Thursday they will cease all basketball operations activities for “the next few days” in response to the COVID-19 outbreak.

The Bulls' statement comes after the team returned Thursday from Orlando, where they flew on Wednesday to play a game that never happened.

The NBA suspended its season indefinitely on Wednesday after Utah Jazz All-Star center Rudy Gobert tested positive for the COVID-19 virus.

On Thursday, Gobert’s teammate — Donovan Mitchell — confirmed on his Instagram account that he has it too:

According to the Bulls, no Chicago player has reported to be symptomatic in regards to the coronavirus. Players, coaches and basketball operations personnel will remain in the Chicago area until further notice.

The NBA league office held a conference call Thursday with high-ranking officials from all 30 teams, in which talk of a 30-day moratorium took place, per K.C. Johnson of NBC Sports Chicago.

The Bulls were on their way to missing the playoffs again this season. Right now, though, no one is really focused on basketball.
