DeMar DeRozan is playing like a superstar who wants to have his own Space Jam movie. While he’s not exactly LeBron James nor Michael Jordan, he did put up a pair of incredible stat lines over the Chicago Bulls’ last two games that put him in the same statistical territory as Shaquille O’Neal.

Via Stats By STATS:

Each of the last 2 nights, DeMar DeRozan of the @chicagobulls has:

-scored 35+ points
-shot 65.0+ percent from the field
-earned a road win

He's the first NBA player to pull that off on back-to-back days since Shaquille O'Neal did it on April 5 & 6, 2001.

A night after scorching Los Angeles Clippers defenders with a 35-point performance on 75,0 percent shooting from the field, DeRozan led the Bulls in their 121-103 win over the Los Angeles Lakers with 38 points on 65.2 percent shooting.

The Bulls are getting a huge boost from DeRozan, who’s leading the team with an average of 26.9 points per game on 51.0 percent shooting through 14 games. Will DeRozan be able to sustain that form? In any case, if the Bulls are to make the playoffs and go on a deep postseason, they surely need the veteran to be in a form that’s at least close to what he’s showing right now.
