When the Chicago Bulls acquired DeMar DeRozan in the off-season, they were expecting to see an All-Star production out of him. However, fans were pleasantly surprised when the ex-Raptors and Spurs swingman put together his best season as a pro, and an MVP-level season out of him.

DeRozan's absurd 2021 – 22 campaign continued with the Bulls' 134 – 122 shellacking of the Minnesota Timberwolves. In that game, DeMar DeRozan scored 35 points for the fourth game in a row, putting him on par with the great Michael Jordan in Chicago history. (via ESPN Sports & Info)

DeMar DeRozan's MVP campaign started from his first game, proving that the Bulls risking it all to acquire him was extremely worth it. He's averaging career-highs across all major counting stats this season, scoring more points while keeping an efficient clip and providing playmaking. His exploits have the team gunning for the number one seed in the Eastern Conference mid-way through the season.

The Bulls in general have done an amazing job keeping the team afloat throughout many problems. The team got ravaged by COVID and injuries during a wave of cases in the NBA, with DeRozan, Zach LaVine, Lonzo Ball, and Nikola Vucevic missing time, among other guys. Despite that, they were able to hang on thanks to bench players stepping up and not fall too far down in the standings.

The final monkey on DeRozan's back is his playoff woes. The Bulls star's shortcomings in the post-season are well-documented, leading many fans to brand him a choker. This is Deebo's year to prove that those narratives are false, and turn around the casual fan's perception of him.
