The Chicago Bulls' impressive turnaround continued with a 115-109 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks on Friday night. Not only did the victory give the Bulls their fifth win in a row, but it was also the third game during that streak they managed to do it without rookie power forward Lauri Markkanen.

The seventh overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft has missed the last week due to back spasms. However, head coach Fred Hoiberg feels it is nothing more than some early-season fatigue, according to Mike McGraw of the Daily Herald:

“When you throw everything together on a 20-year-old player, you're going to go through some of this,” Hoiberg said. “He has gone through a little bit of fatigue. He's just going through a little tightness and tiredness in his body. But he's going to continue to fight through it.”

While Markkanen's conditioning may come as a concern to some, it is common for rookies to go through somewhat of an adjustment period with the rigors of playing in the NBA. That said, his designation was likely a precaution to help him get through the year.

Markkananen could potentially return to the starting lineup Monday night for the Bulls' tilt versus the Philadelphia 76ers. Chicago has a good chance of keeping their streak alive with budding superstar center Joel Embiid ruled out for the game.
