In the first several weeks of the season, the Chicago Bulls have had the cloud of the internal conflict between veteran forwards Bobby Portis and Nikola Mirotic floating overhead of the franchise.

Things have remained much of the same with Mirotic still not on speaking terms with Portis since the latter punched Mirotic at the end of the last Bulls practice before the start of the season.

However, head coach Fred Hoiberg is hoping that playing together on the court will lead to the two eventually hashing things out, according to Mike McGraw of the Daily Herald.

This is the type of situation could force the hand of both players of having to break the ice and speaking to each other on the court. It would require them to communicate for the betterment of the team on both ends of the floor.

It could be a creative ploy by Hoiberg to finally get a resolution to the lingering situation and get the team past it entirely. The Bulls' preference at this point in time is to see if they can get Portis and Mirotic on the same page before deciding to make any moves to clear things up.

With Mirotic increasing his workload in his recovery process, it's just a matter of time before the team sees if things can get sorted out between them.
