We can scratch off Miami Heat assistant general manager Adam Simon for the Chicago Bulls' top exec spot.

The Heat released a statement on Monday saying that Simon is staying in Miami and won't pursue the Bulls job:

The Bulls have interviews planned with Arturas Karnisovas and Justin Zanik. Karnisovas is currently general manager of the Denver Nuggets, while Zanik holds the same position with the Utah Jazz.

The Bulls had eyes on Toronto Raptors general manager Bobby Webster as well, but he's expected to stay in Toronto. Indiana Pacers general manager Chad Buchanan will stay with Indiana as well and won’t interview with the Bulls.

Bulls COO Michael Reinsdorf is searching for front office depth, but the search hasn't started off too well. Whoever this new hire is will surely have the freedom to make additional hires if he wants to. Supporters of the team are hoping Gar Forman, John Paxson and Jim Boylen will all be gone, but the odds of Paxson being fired are very, very low.

Most Bulls fans also wanted Webster for the team's top exec spot since he made the Kawhi Leonard trade and drafted Pascal Siakam. Monday's news regarding Webster was a downer for Chicago fans.

The Windy City club had a record of just 22-43 before the 2019-20 season was suspended due to COVID-19. Chicago's core is made up of Zach LaVine, Lauri Markkanen, Coby White and Wendell Carter Jr.
