The Chicago Bulls' 2019-20 struggles continue as they lost their third straight and their second clash with the Portland Trail Blazers, upping their loss total to 14, after a nailbiting 107-103 defeat. After the game, head coach Jim Boylen remained defiant that the team will eventually get it going if they stay the course since the season is still early.

A reporter, however, followed up on what the coach meant and asked how the Bulls plan on turning it around without changing anything — prompting the promoted interim coach to snipe back with a film quote.

For the uninitiated, Boylen was referencing the 80s Kevin Costner baseball movie “Field of Dreams” which sounds catchy and worked for the character but appears to be inapplicable in this case with the team being of questionable makeup and severely lacking in many areas.

The Bulls are probably banking on being able to bounce back once fully healthy with swingman Otto Porter Jr. remaining on the sidelines as well as budding star forward Lauri Markkanen recovering from a shooting slump that has affected his entire game. But this appears to be wishful thinking given that this is nearly the same lineup as last year that just won 22 games with the lone additions being another former Washington Wizard in point guard Tomas Satoransky and rookie Coby White who's been playing spectacular as a microwave scorer off the bench.

But perhaps coach Boylen may be up to something. If he is, they better do it in a hurry with some personnel likely being on the hot seat should the losses pile up.
