Jim Boylen heard and saw the reports that he and Chicago Bulls senior advisor Doug Collins are not seeing eye to eye. The Bulls head coach denied the rumored beef with Collins and added that he and the 68-year old executive have a positive relationship, per K.C. Johnson of NBC Sports Chicago.

“Doug doesn’t work for me. He was hired by ownership and management. All my interaction with Doug has been very positive. He’s been in my meetings and on the floor with the team,” Boylen said. “I don’t control his schedule or if he’s here or not here. We’ve had a very good, close relationship since he’s been here.”

While Boylen denied any of the negative chatter between he and Collins, he did admit that it's been a while since they last spoke.

NBC Sports Chicago initially reported that Boylen and Collins had a falling out of sorts when the current Bulls coach reportedly did not want the former Bulls mentor sitting in during coach's meetings.

Collins, a former NBA player himself back in the 1970's, reportedly made strong remarks that did not sit too well with some people at one of their organizational meetings. The long-time head coach has since faded into the background following the incident.

Whichever reports are true, one thing is for sure: the Bulls are arguably one of the messiest organizations in the NBA right now, aside, of course, from the ultimate walking disaster that is the New York Knicks. Chicago clearly needs a change, whether it be in the front office or on its coaching staff, as the franchise has been under mediocrity over the past decade.
