In a rare turn of events, referees in the Chicago BullsLos Angeles Clippers match-up on Friday ejected both head coaches Jim Boylen and Doc Rivers. Rivers and Boylen had a heated exchange mid-court, and the refs put an end to their argument by throwing them both out.

Following the game, the Bulls' hard-nosed coach explained why he went off on Rivers and Clippers big man Montrezl Harrell. Apparently, he did not appreciate the way with they were setting their picks, per Ben Golliver of The Washington Post.

It looks like Boylen took one for his team right here. And it seems like he knew exactly what he was getting himself into.

Rivers, on the other hand, didn't know why he was thrown out for merely answering to Boylen's tirade.

Despite getting the offensive foul call, Boylen still went over to halfcourt to confront Rivers and lashed out on him for what he deemed as dirty tactics by the Clippers. He was already upset with one of the picks set by Harrell earlier in the first half which apparently took out Bulls guard Ryan Arcidiacono, who sat out the rest of the game due to the hard hit.

Despite his attitude, Boylen sure does have his players' back. In fact, he even dapped up all of his players before heading towards the exits.

The Bulls initially didn't like the challenging coaching style of Boylen, who replaced then-coach Fred Hoiberg back in early December. However, despite the continuing pile up of losses, it appears like they have warmed up to their tough-minded coach's ways with the way they are playing hard to end their 2018-19 campaign.
