Chicago Bulls executive vice president of basketball operations John Paxson opened up about the type of impact the loss of veteran wing Otto Porter has had on the team.

Paxson explained how Porter's lengthy absence has impacted the Bulls' offense:

“There’s not a quick fix,” explained Paxson, via K.C. Johnson of NBC Sports Chicago. “We’d like to get Otto (Porter) back. Part of our shooting issues has been that he hasn’t been on the floor.”

Porter has been out of action since early November due to a left foot injury, and just recently, the Bulls announced that they expect the 26-year-old to miss out on at least the next four weeks. There's no doubt that Chicago is missing the services of the former third overall pick, and Paxson's statement here just confirms what has long been known.

Paxson also acknowledged the shooting struggles of Lauri Markkanen, but the high-ranking executive isn't giving up hope:

“Lauri hasn’t shot to the level that he has the first two years,” said Paxson. “We need him to do that. We’re not giving up on Lauri, Wendell, Zach, Coby White. We’re all in this together. This is about all of us being better.”

It has not been a good start for the Bulls this season, but they were able to come up with a 109-106 win over the Kawhi Leonard-less Los Angeles Clippers on Saturday, which came right after Paxson's remarks. Hopefully, this marks the start of a considerable run for a young Bulls side that certainly holds plenty of potential.
