The Chicago Bulls are set to decide on a date for Zach LaVine’s return, and it brings a lot of excitement to the team’s fans knowing that they will be able to finally see their young core, led by Kris Dunn and Lauri Markkanen, complete and playing together.

Despite their lack of success this season, the availability of the former two-time Slam Dunk Contest champion is expected to add depth to their backcourt, giving them another scoring weapon.

However, others have questioned how LaVine could affect the development of Dunn, who is having a career year so far, emerging as the team's point guard of the future. Dunn is not worried, though, and he even made it known recently, via K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune, that he knows LaVine as a player who can make the right decisions on the court.

Dunn then added that his former teammate with the Minnesota Timberwolves is an unselfish player who has a knack for finding the open man on offense.

LaVine missed majority of last season and he has not seen action so far this year for the Bulls, as he continues to recover from an ACL injury. He landed with the Bulls, together with Dunn, as part of the deal that sent Jimmy Butler to the Timberwolves during draft night.

It can be expected that LaVine will be on a minutes restriction while he regains his old form. If he can prove that he can coexist with his new teammates, LaVine and Dunn could eventually form one of the best young backcourts in the Eastern Conference.
