Chicago Bulls vice president of basketball operations John Paxson says Lauri Markkanen’s agent has given no indication that Markkanen wants out of Chicago.

A report from Joe Cowley of the Chicago Sun-Times said Markkanen is upset in Chicago and wants to be moved:

Markkanen has appeared in 46 games for the Bulls this season. He’s averaging 15.0 points, 6.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists while shooting 42.4 percent from the field, 34.4 percent from beyond the arc and 82.6 percent from the free-throw line.

Markkanen is currently out with a stress reaction of his right pelvis.

The Bulls are 19-33 on the season. They are in ninth place in the Eastern Conference standings. Chicago is 3.5 games back of the Orlando Magic for the eighth and final playoff spot out East.

Markkanen has been pretty inconsistent this season for whatever reason. Some believe he doesn’t like playing for head coach Jim Boylen.

Before the season started, the Bulls were counting on Markkanen and shooting guard Zach LaVine to be a lethal dynamic duo in order to lead the team back to the playoffs. Chicago hasn’t made the postseason since 2017, the final year of the Jimmy Butler era.
