Nikola Mirotic remains a restricted free agent as he’s yet to come to an agreement with the Chicago Bulls. Despite the uncertainty about his future, however, he’s still making the necessary preparations for the upcoming NBA grind.

The 26-year-old forward previously announced that he wouldn’t participate for Spain in the EuroBasket 2017, citing that he intends to focus on working out this summer. Now, his effort seems to pay off, with his latest tweet showing he gained 22 pounds this summer.

Mirotic was listed at 238 pounds this past season, so this latest addition should put him at around 260 pounds — a good result for him considering that he’s looking to add more muscle to help improve his game on both ends of the floor.

Consistency is still the issue for Mirotic as he hasn’t shown much improvement over the past three seasons. He has had a string of impressive games playing for Chicago, but he is yet to find a way to efficiently get buckets.

It’s still up in the air if the Bulls will offer him a deal and re-sign the Real Madrid standout. However, if they don’t, Mirotic at least has an additional selling point to other teams.
