It has been a progressive recovery process for veteran forward Nikola Mirotic of the Chicago Bulls from a facial fracture and concussion that he suffered in a scuffle with teammate Bobby Portis.

According to Nick Friedell of ESPNv, Mirotic has picked up an increased workload on the court in his rehab but has yet to talk to Portis since the incident.

The fact that the two have yet to work things out on a personal level could become a potential distraction down the line once Mirotic returns from his injury. The two have become huge contributors to the puzzle in this rebuilding process in Chicago despite competing for playing time at the same position.

That said, the Bulls are said to be following this situation closely if any problems were to arise against between the two of them. Although Mirotic has a desire to remain with the Bulls, he is reportedly open to being moved if came down to it.

It may still be early to tell if things can be worked out, but there is certainly enough time for the two to make amends at some point over the next few weeks. Ultimately, it's clearly still a fluid situation that could get resolution in the near future.
