The Chicago Bulls appear to be finally getting past the entire ordeal involving the altercation between veteran forwards Bobby Portis and Nikola Mirotic.

This has impacted Mirotic more than initially anticipated beyond the physical injuries as the missed time on the court this season has cost him $1 million in potential contract bonuses, according to Bobby Marks of ESPN.

This is a sizeable chunk of extra money made for Mirotic, who can enter the free agent market next summer after his one-year, $12.5 million deal expires. The loss of the $1 million may have contributed to the disconnect and lack of communication from the 26-year-old toward Portis.

That said, the two have finally resolved the situation as Mirotic has accepted his teammate's apology, which all both parties and the Bulls move on from it entirely. It had been lingering for the first quarter of the season due to the uncertainty around how the two would interact moving forward.

Mirotic is expected to make his return to the court within the next couple of weeks after practicing for the last several days.
