After a forgettable season mired with injuries, Otto Porter Jr. now appears primed for a bounce-back campaign with the Chicago Bulls. He recently shared his thoughts on the upcoming NBA season, and while he now feels completely healthy, Porter admitted that he is still unsure of the role new Bulls coach Billy Donovan is going to assign him.

The 27-year-old forward just didn't look like himself last season, and this was due to a lingering foot issue. As it appears, however, this is now a thing of the past as he shared his status with KC Johnson of NBC Sports.

“My foot is feeling great. Last year, when I got back out there, my foot felt 100 percent.”

Porter went on to open up about his thought process at the moment, and how he intends to keep his focus on the season ahead.

“Just really focus on the healthy aspect, making sure I get my body right, knowing it could lead up to a big season this year with the Bulls where we’re looking forward to doing big things. You can’t really change the past. And for this upcoming season, I’m just looking forward to it. Get the opportunity to get back out there with my teammates and our coaches.”

The Bulls brought in Donovan into the mix to replace Jim Boylen, and for Porter, the arrival of a new coach might entail a new role for the 6-foot-8 former Georgetown standout. Nonetheless, he does not seem to mind.

“I told him that I would play whatever he wanted me to do, play however many minutes. It’s totally up to him.”

Good thing for him, Donovan already said that keeping Porter healthy is one of his main priorities as he's always been impressed with him.

Porter recently picked up the player option on the final year of his current deal with the Bulls. No way was he turning down a guaranteed $28.5 million.
