The bad news just keeps on coming for the Chicago Bulls. It has now been announced that veteran forward Otto Porter Jr. is expected to be out for at least a couple more weeks as he continues to recover from a pesky foot injury:

Porter has missed five consecutive games already due to this issue, and as it turns out, he will be out of action for a longer period than initially expected. Then again, Porter is not exactly the most durable of players in the NBA, so in this regard, perhaps this is not a complete surprise.

Much like the rest of the Bulls, Porter has had a slow start to the new campaign. In nine game played thus far, he is currently averaging 11.2 points (on 41.7 percent shooting), 3.4 rebounds, 1.6 assists, and a steal, while also connecting on 1.8 3-pointers per ballgame on a 40.0 percent clip. While not exactly terrible, the 26-year-old has seen a significant dip in his production from his outstanding half season with the Bulls last term.

There's no denying that Chicago is in a funk right now, and with a 4-10 record, this is may quickly become another lost season for the team. While Porter is expected to make his return to action this calendar year, his lengthy absence could put the Bulls in a hole they can't dig out of.
