Chicago Bulls legend Scottie Pippen isn't a fan of the organization hiring Billy Donovan as the new head coach.

While Pippen said he likes Donovan as a person, the six-time Bulls champion doesn't believe the former Oklahoma City Thunder head coach has done anything impressive in the NBA to warrant getting the Chicago job.

“If you’re looking at it from a fan perspective, I’m not impressed with what they did,” Scottie Pippen told Chris Cason of Forbes when asked to grade the Bulls' hiring of Billy Donovan.

“I don’t think that they have made any dramatic changes that are going to change who they are as a team. That’s just my personal opinion. I like Billy Donovan as a person but I don’t think he’s proved anything in the NBA that proves he’s worth investing in and bringing a team up that needs help like Chicago does. They’re a team that has been struggling for a long time. To me, I don’t see the value he brings to them. He’s going to be a coach but there are a lot of them out there. He didn’t do anything special in OKC that warranted him a second opportunity. That’s just my opinion.”

The Bulls have been a walking disaster ever since they traded Jimmy Butler to the Minnesota Timberwolves on draft night back in 2017. The hope in Chicago is that the new leadership team of Arturas Karnisovas and Marc Eversley can bring the franchise back to prominence.

However, Pippen doesn't see the Bulls getting much better under Donovan. The Hall of Famer, who is no longer the team's global ambassador, has been distancing himself from the organization since Chicago has turned into a national joke following the Derrick Rose and Butler trade.

The Bulls have the fourth overall pick in the 2020 draft as a result of their putrid 2019-20 season under ex-coach Jim Boylen. It will be interesting to see who Chicago takes.
