After being one of the biggest winners of the recent free agency period, all eyes are now on the Chicago Bulls to see whether they will make a long-awaited return to the playoffs. There is also much hype to see on whether DeMar DeRozan and Zach LaVine will form potent chemistry this season. Over his run with the team so far, LaVine has not had the chance to play alongside a veteran scorer such as DeRozan, who has averaged 20-plus points per game in recent seasons.

DeMar DeRozan is much looking forward to sharing the court with Zach LaVine and making the most out of his run with the Bulls. As DeRozan detailed to the Stadium's Shams Charania, playing with a versatile wing scorer like LaVine will be a new experience for him.

“The talent that Zach has is incredible,” DeRozan said. “It's a shame that he hasn't been able to be on a main stage and show that. Obviously, he got a chance with the Olympic team this year. But you play in the NBA to want to see what it is like in the postseason.

“So, just having a dynamic guy like that. In my career, I haven't played with a talent at that wing position like Zach before. He is incredible. He can score the ball, his athleticism. He's one-of-a-kind.”

Over the free agency period, DeRozan had garnered intrigue from multiple teams before landing with the Bulls. For example, the New York Knicks were heavily rumored to be interested in signing the four-time All-Star.

In the end, DeRozan opted to join the Bulls on a three-year deal, and the opportunity to possibly make a playoff push with LaVine played a key role in this decision.

“That was one of the big reasons to even come to Chicago, to play with a guy like Zach,” DeRozan said. “To experience winning, to experience something new that he hasn't and something I haven’t in a while either.”

LaVine has not yet played in a single playoff game over his career, while DeRozan's last postseason appearance came during his first season with the San Antonio Spurs. The two will look to meet Chicago's high expectations and lead the Bulls back to the playoffs in the upcoming campaign.
