Chicago Bulls rookie Wendell Carter Jr. played the game of his life on Friday, as he posted a career-high 28 points on the evening. However, the 19-year-old was quick to downplay his outstanding performance, as he opted to focus on how his team was unable to put up a formidable fight against the Detroit Pistons.

The Bulls were absolutely outplayed by the home team on the evening, and not even Carter's career game was enough to make it a contest. The Pistons easily took down the struggling Bulls, ending the night with a 107-88 final scoreline.

Following the blowout, Carter was asked to comment about his big night, to which the Duke product responded defiantly:

Wendell Carter Jr. was easily the Bulls' best player on the evening, as the 6-foot-10 big man also added seven rebounds, one assist, and three blocks to his game-high 28 points (on 11-of-18 field goals and 6-of-7 from the line). He went toe-to-toe against Pistons center Andre Drummond and proved he could hold his own against one of the top big men in the league today.

On the season, the rookie is averaging 11.6 points (on 47.0 percent shooting), 7.1 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 0.6 steals, 1.7 blocks, and 1.7 turnovers in 25.4 minutes per game. Chicago's seventh overall pick in June's draft continues to be one of the more impressive rookies thus far.

The Bulls are not going anywhere this season, so Carter will be given a lot of room to develop into what the team envisions him to be. Hopefully, the Bulls have found their big man of the future in Wendell Carter Jr.
