Sunday's final two episodes of “The Last Dance” featured one of Michael Jordan's most memorable performances throughout his decorated career. It was the famous “Flu Game” in the 1997 NBA Finals, during which Jordan lifted the Chicago Bulls against the Utah Jazz.

It was later revealed, however, that Jordan actually suffered from food poisoning and was not down with the flu.

Now, “The Last Dance” director Jason Hehir shared the hilarious backstory behind that infamous pizza that allegedly caused the food poisoning of the Bulls legend.

“So earlier that night, (the rest of Jordan's camp) all ate dinner and didn't wait for Michael when they ordered. So it gets to be about 10 or 11 o'clock and Michael is starving, and says ‘I want a pizza,'” Hehir narrated in an appearance on ESPN's Jalen & Jacoby Aftershow. “When the pizza shows up, Michael says, ‘Everybody do not touch this pizza. This is mine. You didn't wait for me, don't touch this.' So he spits on the pizza.”

That is utterly disgusting, and as co-host David Jacoby said in his reaction to the tale, this is something that kids usually do. It was pretty hilarious, though.

Karma hit Michael Jordan hard. Having consumed the pizza by himself, he was the only one who suffered from food poisoning hours later. Then again, it resulted in one of the most historic MJ performances ever, so in hindsight — as terrible as it may sound — we're a little bit glad that Bulls great went through that ordeal.
