Zach LaVine led the Chicago Bulls in scoring last season, and the high-flyer expects to do it again in 2019-20.

LaVine averaged 23.7 points per game last season. He's the most talented scorer on the Bulls and knows it's his job to carry the scoring load in The Windy City.

“I think I defined that last year,” LaVine said, via The Athletic. “Obviously, I don’t think I’m going to lead the team in scoring every night. But for the majority of it, I did last year and I think I will this year again too. I take that upon myself to go out there — like I said, every time I step on the court I think I’m the best player. Not being selfish at all. But that’s just the mentality I have. It starts with me, and I want to be able to try to make sure I bring everybody up.”

Told that’s not a selfish approach, LaVine agreed.

“Yeah, you need to do your job,” he said. “That’s what I know I can do and I can create and I can help this team with. I think I can go out there and score on anybody. I think I can score at a high rate efficiently. So I’m going to make sure I go out there and do my job.”

LaVine shot 46.7 percent from the field and 37.4 percent from beyond the arc last season for the Bulls, who only won 22 games. The 24-year-old vows to use his 2018-19 season as a stepping stone and help lead Chicago to the playoffs this season.

Let’s see if LaVine can guide the Bulls to the postseason. It’s going to be a hard task for the two-time Slam Dunk champion, but LaVine seems eager to attack it.
