At the beginning of last season, the Minnesota Timberwolves looked like they had a new big three in Karl-Anthony Towns, Andrew Wiggins, and Zach LaVine.

They were three rising stars and they held the keys in their hands to bring the Wolves back to the promised land. But then LaVine tore his ACL and he was dealt out of Minnesota to Chicago in a trade that saw Jimmy Butler come back to the Wolves.

For LaVine there will be some emotions as his Bulls are about to face his old Wolves squad on Friday night. LaVine talked about these emotions with  Jace Frederick of the Pioneer Press.

The one thing LaVine really stressed is that he has no hard feelings towards the Wolves.

“You can’t be mad, You’ve got to understand the decisions that have to be made for the organization. Sometimes it’s bigger than you or whatever feelings you have towards the team. Like I said, we’re friends regardless and I feel like even at the end of the day, it would have been hard for all three of us to stay on the same team.”

He said he is also close with Towns, Wiggins, Tyus Jones and Wolves head coach Tom Thibodeau.

“I’m happy for them. All of them dudes put in hard work, The trade made it possible for them to be at that point. No hard feelings from me. We’re going to get to that point, as well, with the Chicago Bulls.”

For LaVine he is still trying to work his way back after his ACL injury. He has played in 11 games so far this year averaging 15.6 points and 4.5 rebounds per game.

If the Bulls are going to take that next step forward, there is no doubt a big part of the future is going to be with LaVine.
