Chicago Bulls guard Zach LaVine made it to the record books on Friday night when he became just the third player in NBA history to make at least 13 3-pointers in a single game.

Not only did LaVine join just any select group, he is now in the same stratosphere as that of the Golden State Warriors Splash Brothers Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson.

Curry previously had the record of most threes in a game with 13 triples before Thompson surpassed his fellow Splash Brother and nailed 14 threes in just three quarters against (ironically) the Bulls last season. On Saturday night, LaVine's performance ties Curry for the second most triple makes in NBA history.

LaVine finished his night with a career-high 49 points, 27 of which came in the fourth quarter. He had the hot hand in the entire period, drilling seven of his 13 threes to help Chicago in their come-from-behind win against Charlotte.

Chicago pulled off the miraculous road victory with one of the craziest endings to the season so far. It seemed like the Hornets had the game won with a five-point lead with 14.7 seconds remaining.

However, the Bulls refused to stay down after Tomas Satoransky converted on a triple with eight ticks to go. Chicago clamped down on the inbound pass and forced a turnover that led to LaVine's 13th triple for lead and the victory.

LaVine's historic performance comes after a mini-spat with head coach Jim Boylen. Boylen and LaVine expressed their displeasure toward one another after their previous contest against the Miami Heat on Friday.

The two reportedly talked it out prior to the Charlotte contest. The fruits of the conversation paid its dividends, with LaVine going off just one-point short of 50.
