On paper, Chicago Bulls shooting guard Zach LaVine knows he and power forward Lauri Markkanen are a “match made in heaven.”

The Bulls are expecting LaVine and Markkanen to be the team's dynamic duo for the next few years. Both guys are explosive scorers and can flourish in the pick-and-roll and pick-and-pop game.

To be considered a lethal dynamic duo, though, LaVine knows he and Markkanen have to be more “consistent” moving forward for the Bulls.

“It seems like a match made in heaven. We just got to be able to be consistent together and both be dominant on the court at the same time,” LaVine said, via K.C. Johnson of NBC Sports Chicago.

“We know we can be a dynamic duo, with our shooting, our athletic ability to get to the hoop. We just have to put it into the game. We’ve seen it at points in the game sometimes—last year, this year—but we’ve just got to do it consistently.”

Through the Bulls' first nine games of the season, LaVine is averaging 20.4 points while shooting 44.1 percent from the field and 38.6 percent from beyond the arc.

Markkanen, meanwhile, is putting up 15.1 points and 7.6 rebounds. He's shooting just 39.3 percent overall and 30.4 percent from the 3-point line.

Markkanen needs to find his shooting stroke, sooner rather than later, if the Bulls want to pick up the pace. Chicago is just 3-6 to start the season.
