Bulls star Zach LaVine shares his message to teammate Demar DeRozan amid the looming uncertainty on his COVID-19 status.

While the Bulls are on a roll, including LaVine and DeRozan's emergence as one of the best duos in the league—previously defeating the talented Brooklyn Nets. However, the team suffers a tough blow as DeRozan recently entered the NBA's health and safety protocols, leading him to miss the clash against the Denver Nuggets.

Whatever the outcome of this situation may be, LaVine seems optimistic about the team's current momentum and wishes his teammate the best moving forward.

“Let him know we got his back. Fingers crossed for his test tomorrow. He's in good spirits, feeling good. Definitely called him just to say what up to him and celebrate the win with him.”

DeRozan returned one positive test last Monday, but this is not enough to ultimately have a diagnosis of a positive case—due to the lack of additional results to fully diagnose his status. According to reports, he participated in the morning shootaround of the Bulls before being pulled into isolation. A firm positive diagnosis will have a massive impact on the team; DeRozan is averaging over 26 points a game and is considered as one of the league's MVP candidates this season.

Aside from that, the Bulls are benefiting from the impact of the LaVine-Derozan tandem, as they are currently second in the Eastern Conference, sporting a 17-8 win-loss record. Based on Chicago's 109-97 win at Denver, it is certain that the team has enough firepower despite missing one of their best players. However, Bulls fans wouldn't want to miss DeRozan for a significant time so that the team can make a desirable playoff push this year.
