Chicago Bulls shooting guard Zach LaVine was asked to name his all-time Bulls starting five during an interview with Marc J. Spears of The Undefeated.

The high-flyer went with Derrick Rose, himself, Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen and Pau Gasol.

Rose finished his Bulls career with averages of 19.7 points and 6.2 assists. He’s top 10 in franchise history in both points and assists and is still the youngest MVP in NBA history.

D-Rose won the MVP award at the age of 22 during the 2010-11 season. He averaged 25.0 points, 4.1 rebounds and 7.7 assists while leading the Bulls to the best record in the NBA.

LaVine, meanwhile, has established himself as one of the best young scorers in the NBA. Before the 2019-20 season was suspended due to COVID-19, he was putting up 25.5 points, 4.8 rebounds and 4.2 assists for the Windy City franchise.

Jordan, as everyone knows, is the greatest NBA player of all-time. The Bulls legend won six titles in Chicago, winning six Finals MVPs along the way. MJ finished his NBA career with averages of 30.1 points, 6.2 rebounds and 5.3 assists with Chicago and the Washington Wizards.

From 1991-1998, Pippen averaged 20.0 points, 7.3 rebounds and 6.0 assists for the Bulls. During that span, Scottie won six championships and made six All-Star teams. He also won the 1994 All-Star Game MVP.

Pippen was named a Hall of Famer in 2010. He finished his Chicago career with averages of 17.7 points, 6.7 rebounds and 5.3 assists. He is second to Jordan in Bulls franchise history in games played, minutes played, field goals and points.

Gasol only played two seasons with Chicago. He averaged 17.6 points, 11.4 rebounds and made two All-Star teams.

LaVine probably should have gone with Joakim Noah or Artis Gilmore for this pick.
