Zach LaVine of the Chicago Bulls carried on with his efforts to help in the battle against the coronavirus pandemic. Recently, the Bulls stud surprised a healthcare frontliner by sending her an endearing message of gratitude for all the sacrifices she is making.

Holly Rasche is the Director of Security Management Services at Northwest Community Hospital in Chicago, and as part of NBC Sports Chicago‘s “Be Chicago: Together We Can” fundraiser, LaVine spoke to her live.

Zach LaVine and the Bulls' gesture came to Rasche's surprise, as it was actually her son who nominated her with this touching message:

“My mom because she works at Northwest Community Hospital as the director of security emergency preparedness and switchboard. She’s been working long hours this week to help with this coronavirus crisis and that’s the reason why I want to nominate her that she’s also a great mom. Even though she works a ton of hours she still finds time to take care of my sister and my dad and me when he’s not at the firehouse. She cooks, cleans, helps with school work. She has even gone out of her way to make our birthdays special. I just turned 11 and she made my birthday so cool! I love my mom and she deserves to be surprised. She never does anything for her.”

This effort by the Bulls is certainly the types of stories we want to hear in the midst of all the fear and uncertainty brought about by the pandemic. A little positivity and such a heart-warming moment like this does go a long way.

Kudos to Zach LaVine and the Bulls for taking part in this wonderful initiative.
