The current era of NBA star talent has grown up watching the likes of LeBron James and the late Kobe Bryant dominate the league as the heroes of their time. Chicago Bulls shooting guard Zach LaVine learned a thing of two of franchise lore after watching Michael Jordan's maniacal competitiveness in Sunday's premiere of ‘The Last Dance'.

LaVine admitted he started to grasp more about how Jordan was as a player after watching the first two episodes of the docuseries.

Via Marc J. Spears of The Undefeated:

“I didn’t really understand how much of like an addiction of competitiveness that he had. It was off the charts,” said LaVine. “You hear about people saying ‘I don't like to lose' or different things, but it really bugged the hell out of him. It bugged him. So I didn't realize how mentally competitive he was.”

Jordan's leadership and relentless pursuit of winning has yet to be replicated in the league besides the likes of Bryant, who modeled his game after His Airness.

LaVine might be suiting up as the starting shooting guard for the Bulls, but he seems genuinely surprised at how much Jordan hated to lose — something that is perhaps stupefying considering the United Center is dripping with Jordan lore.

There's a lot left to learn for young LaVine through the next four showings of this eye-opening docuseries, as the filmmakers delve deeper into how the Bulls' second three-peat came to be.
