The Chicago Bulls have had a drama-filled week-and-a-half under new coach Jim Boylen, but star shooting guard Zach LaVine assures the hoopla around them has been overblown.

“I think everything got blown out of proportion, but we are in a good state, the team is good and we are all together,” LaVine told The Associated Press. “Always going on the road… in a different country where we can all be together is good because we can bond. I think it's going to be a good time here.”

These have been trying times after going from a milder Fred Hoiberg to an enforcer like Boylen, who has rapidly tried to bust this team into shape, using former mentor Gregg Popovich as an inspiration to instill the San Antonio Spurs way in The Windy City.

While it's been clear that Boylen doesn't have the managerial clout or the experience as a head coach to pull that off on a whim, he does have the institutional support from the front office, as the duo of Gar Forman and John Paxson vehemently backed him up during a Sunday morning meeting with the players in the practice facility.

While Boylen and the front office made concessions in efforts to elect a “leadership committee” to serve as a liaison between the players and coaches, the shtick remains the same and Boylen will try to whip this young team into shape with the full backing of a disjointed front office.

Zach LaVine is hoping to keep the Bulls' issues under wraps and move on with this season, with the Bulls already looking like a lottery candidate sporting the worst record in the East at 6-22.
