Chicago Bulls star Zach LaVine has voiced time and time again that he loves playing in The Windy City. Despite the team failing this season to earn a berth in the play-in tournament even after acquiring Nikola Vucevic at the deadline, the Bulls guard would like to stay put.

Although rumors were circling last week that LaVine may be willing to take a discounted deal in order to bring in more talent around him, it appears that the former UCLA star is ultimately looking to get paid what he deserves.

LaVine is qualified to receive an extension in the summer, but it wouldn't be a max deal. However, he hits free agency in 2022 and would be eligible for a deal over $200 million across five years. That would probably be the best option for LaVine in terms of getting the most money.

He is coming off a tremendous campaign for the Bulls, averaging career highs across the board of 27.4 points, 4.9 assists, and 5.0 rebounds per game. Those impressive numbers also earned LaVine a trip to Atlanta for his very first All-Star appearance.

It's clear that Chicago needs more pieces around LaVine and Vucevic in order to be successful. Therefore, it seems like LaVine should probably wait until the summer of 2022 to get paid handsomely.

After all, this is the Bulls' franchise player. Give the man what he wants.
