The Chicago Bulls went straight to business as they engaged in multiple deals at the March 25 NBA trade deadline. After learning of the team's recent moves, Bulls star Zach LaVine sent a message to his departing teammates and acknowledged them for their contributions but insisted that they have acquired greater talent which makes him more excited moving forward, via K.C. Johnson of NBCS Chicago.

Bulls general manager Marc Eversley swooped in to acquire All-Star forward Nikola Vucevic and Al-Farouq Aminu from the Orlando Magic in exchange for Otto Porter Jr. and Wendell Carter Jr. along with two future first-round selections.

The team's front office still wasn't satisfied as they acquired a couple of young pieces in Troy Brown Jr. and Moritz Wagner from the Washington Wizards in exchange for seldom-used players in Daniel Gafford and Chandler Hutchison.

Midway through the 2020-21 season, the Bulls are finding themselves in a rocky situation as they currently hold a 19-24 record for the 10th spot in the Eastern Conference. The team certainly needed to make upgrades in several spots on their roster in order to be more competitive for the remainder of the season.

With the arrival of an All-Star-caliber player like Nikola Vucevic, Zach LaVine will finally have a capable running mate who already has significant experience in carrying a huge load for his team, especially on offense. The Bulls are hoping that their mid-season acquisitions will eventually pay dividends as they seek to finally barge into the Eastern Conference playoff picture.
