There remains some uncertainty what role John Paxson will have with the Chicago Bulls moving forward, per Joe Cowley of the Chicago Sun-Times.

The Bulls were expected to make a front office hire after the 2019-20 season ends, but now with the whole coronavirus pandemic, it's unclear when Chicago will be able to make that move.

Paxson is currently the Bulls' vice president of basketball operations. Chicago general manager Gar Forman could leave the organization entirely when the front office is restructured, something fans will be very happy about.

The Sun-Times was the first to break the story of Reinsdorf’s plans over the All-Star weekend, and while sources have told the newspaper as of last week that there was still some uncertainty of what role current vice president of basketball operations John Paxson will play in all of this, Forman will have absolutely no seat at the decision-making table, only keeping the GM title warm for his successor.

Paxson has been an exec with the Bulls since 2003. Chicago fans have wanted Paxson and Forman fired for years now, and it appears they might get their wish with Forman, while Paxson's future remains unclear.

However, odds are very high that Paxson will still be with the Bulls. The new front office guy may have a stronger voice than Paxson, but the 59-year-old will still be in the decision-making room.

Before the season got suspended, the Bulls were in 11th place in the Eastern Conference standings with a record of 22-43. Chicago's leading scorer was high-flyer Zach LaVine, who was averaging 25.5 points per game.
