Bulls rumors: Chicago to likely capture title as 'team of the future'

The Chicago Bulls are likely to capture the title among the NBA as the team of the future after another exciting draft last week.

The Chicago Bulls may have been one of the worst teams in the NBA this year. However, that does not seem to be the case for much longer.

Teams like the Boston Celtics and Philadelphia 76ers have finally flourished after years of speculation about their potential. Former Cleveland Cavaliers general manager David Griffin said during an appearance on SiriusXM NBA Radio that the Bulls could be the next team to follow in their footsteps:

“People are not talking about Chicago in the same way they talked about Boston and Philadelphia, as being a team of the future because it snuck up on everybody to a huge degree… It's going to become very in vogue to say that the Bulls are a team of the future”

Hearing such optimism about this young Bulls team is certainly an interesting development. Then again, they undoubtedly fit the profile of a potential competitor.

Chicago started their youth movement last offseason when they parted ways with their veteran pieces starting with star shooting guard Jimmy Butler. Since then, the Bulls have managed to bring in a bevy of talented, albeit unproven players. They fortified their backcourt with the additions of Kris Dunn and Zach LaVine. Meanwhile, the emergence of power forward Lauri Markkanen should pair well in the frontcourt with center Wendell Carter Jr., who Chicago took with the seventh overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft.

However, there are still plenty of questions surrounding this young team. Rumors have started to swirl about their doubts in the backcourt pairing of Dunn and LaVine. That said, it remains to be seen whether or not the Bulls can follow through on the early hype.
