When the Chicago Bulls signed small forward Jabari Parker to a two-year, $40 million free agent deal in July, a person close to head coach Fred Hoiberg joked that it would eventually lead to his firing, according to Joe Cowley of the Chicago Sun-Times.

Turns out, that person was spot on, as the Bulls fired Fred Hoiberg on Dec. 3.

Parker's homecoming to Chicago has been an utter disaster and the former No. 2 overall pick will likely be traded soon.

Jabari Parker – The roster needed defense and outside shooting this offseason, and the Parker signing brought them neither. Actually, a source close to Hoiberg joked that when the Parker signing was announced, it would eventually get Hoiberg fired. Not such a funny joke at this point.

Parker’s return to Chicago was hyped as a homecoming, but now smells of a poorly executed PR stunt.

Jabari Parker is currently out of the Bulls' rotation. The Chicago native has appeared in 30 games this season and is averaging 14.9 points, 6.8 rebounds and 2.2 assists.

Scoring has never been an issue for Parker, who has suffered two ACL tears. It's his effort on defense which is unbearable to watch and it's why new head coach Jim Boylen hasn't been playing him.

The Bulls hired Fred Hoiberg in 2015 and signed him to a five-year deal. Hoiberg went just 115-155 with Chicago and only guided the team to the playoffs once.
