Lauri Markkanen is really back for the Chicago Bulls.

The Bulls forward missed the start of the season due to a sprained right elbow which he sustained during training camp. Lauri Markkanen made his return early this December and hasn’t looked back ever since.

On Friday against the Washington Wizards, the 21-year-old showed everyone that his elbow is now fine and that he is back to his usual self by posterizing Jeff Green.

Midway through the second quarter of the game, Markkanen went for a quick one-two with Justin Holiday. The play opened up a path for Markkanen on the right wing, allowing him to deliver a nasty slam which Jeff Green tried to block – though to no avail.

Entering the matchup with the Wizards, Markkanen is averaging 17.4 points, 6.8 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 12 games for the Bulls. He has started in all but one of those contests that he played in.

Markkanen has also been efficient so far, not looking like a player who is coming off an injury. He is shooting 43.0 percent overall, 39.0 percent from deep and 85.2 percent from the free-throw lines.

The Bulls certainly need Markkanen to be at his best, especially with Jabari Parker seemingly out of the rotation. Fortunately, as what that dunk on Green proves, they don’t need to worry about the young Finn.
