Can Bulls even swim?

Chicago Bulls guard Ryan Arcidiacono and the team's mascot Benn the Bull starred in a video shared by the team on their official account on Sunday morning. The short film features the two becoming lifeguards at an indoor pool. Benny tries and fails at learning the ropes to lifeguarding, including a reference to the slow-motion jogging of the stars on Baywatch.

The 25-year-old Arcidiacono re-signed with the franchise earlier this offseason, inking a three-year contract worth $9 million. Previously, the Villanova standout signed a two-way deal with the Bulls in 2017 before being converted to a full-time contract with the team in 2018.

Arcidiacono, a 6-foot-3 point guard, played four years collegiately with the Wildcats, ending his storied NCAA career with a national championship in 2016, highlighted with the tournament's Most Outstanding Player award. The good times did not last forever, however, with Arcidiacono going undrafted later in June. He first played with the San Antonio Spurs' G League affiliate Austin Spurs during the 2016-17 season before signing with Chicago starting the next year.

With point guard Kris Dunn's star diminishing in the Windy City, Arcidiacono has an opportunity to build rapport on the team and earn serious minutes. Despite the acquisition of Washington Wizards guard Tomas Satoransky, now competing in the 2019 FIBA World Cup in China with the Czech Republic, and selecting North Carolina point guard Coby White with the seventh overall pick in last June's draft, the Bulls' backcourt is relatively open for players like Arcidiacono. Chicago's frontcourt looks solidified with former lottery picks in Lauri Markkanen and Wendell Carter Jr. alongside free agent pick-up Thaddeus Young, but the guards on the team are extremely unproved.

Last season for the Bulls, Arcidiacono averaged 6.7 points and 3.3 assists per game in 81 apperances, shooting 44.7% from the floor and 37.3% from deep.
