Kristaps Porzingis has made a lot of fans after being booed when he got drafted last year by the New York Knicks. A relative unknown joining a talented pool of players hoping to get selected by an NBA team, the 7-foot-3 Latvian international became a sensation in The Big Apple and gave the team a lot of optimism for their future.

However, one former coach did not believe he was worthy of a high pick and questioned his skills and physicality. Byron Scott, who called the shots for the Los Angeles Lakers the past two seasons, invited Porzingis for a private workout and was left unimpressed with what he saw from him during the session. He even went as far as joking that he needed an extension should the Lakers go on and select him.

Scott later acknowledged Porzingis' impressive rookie season and admits that they missed out on a unique talent.

As it turned out, Porzingis is now a rising star in the league and has become one of the key pieces to the Knicks' goal of making a return trip to the playoffs for the first time in four years.

Scott on the other hand, was sacked as the Lakers' head coach last summer and has since been replaced by Luke Walton.
