Hackers are a very common occurrence in Activision's Call of Duty games, especially in Call of Duty Warzone and Vanguard, as they have been known to run amok using all kinds of cheats including infinite ammo, aim-botting, and more. In an attempt to stop hackers, Activision has been updating their measures using RICOCHET, their proprietary anti-hack software built into all of their recent Call of Duty titles. And just recently, they have announced that RICOCHET now has a new feature known as “cloaking”.

In a news post made over on the official Call of Duty website, it has been mentioned that this feature was added to RICOCHET as a quiet update, but now has gone into great detail as to how the feature works. According to the news update, players that are detected to be cheating can find themselves unable to see opposing players in the game world. Characters, bullets, and even sounds from legitimate players will be undetectable to cheaters. Legitimate players will be able to notice these hackers impacted by cloaking and will be able to respond swiftly by destroying them with ease.

Along with the update to RICOCHET's anti-hack, Activision has also reported that over 90,000 accounts have been banned for various hacking reports. They have also mentioned that they will be working vigilantly to continue updating their anti-hack software and that legitimate players should continue to report any hackers whenever possible.

As mentioned before, the development team understands how dedicated the hacking community can be, which is why it was very smart of them to roll out anti-hack updates quietly, lest they tip the hackers off over how to circumvent the new update. Now that the update is known, it won't be long before hackers find a way to break their way through. Hopefully, the development team behind RICOCHET will be ready to respond.
