Cam Newton has confirmed reports that he has indeed received the Covid-19 vaccine shot. His unvaccinated status was rumored to play a factor in his unceremonious exit from the New England Patriots and also hurt his chances at getting signed by other teams around the NFL.

After getting the shot, Cam Newton was vocal on his Covid-19 vaccine stance, claiming that the decision to get vaccinated was a personal one.

“You have to do what's right for you,” said Cam Newton. “As in, the person who sees this. The person you see in the mirror. … The person you came into this world with – yourself. And that's it. Whether a person gets vaccinated or not … that's a personal decision. And I think it should be respected as such.”

“One thing I do know – as long as there are two people left on this earth, there will always be differences. All I'm trying to say is, it's still a personal decision.

Cam Newton was also adamant that his desire to continue his NFL career has not waned one bit. He did, however, emphasize that he's more than just his football career and that providing for his family has been the most important thing in all this.

“Hell yeah, I wanna still play football. I still get that urge to go out and perform … but also, I'm so much more than a football player, bruh.”

The question on Cam Newton has been whether teams are actually interested in signing him. There are a handful of QB rooms in the NFL that would potentially need his services, yet he somehow remains unsigned. But the former MVP revealed that he's actually had multiple offers and is just staying patient with his decision.

“Man, I'm just waiting on the right opportunity. You're probably asking yourself, don't nobody want Cam? That's a lie. I've been getting offers.”

We likely haven't seen the last of Cam Newton in the NFL. His decision to get vaccinated definitely helps that cause, too.
