The Arizona Cardinals had a 8-8 record in the 2020 season and are bound to be great for the upcoming voyage. While the roster features young players, they are still a very talented group. Star quarterback Kyler Murray showed his potential last season and could dominate with another year under his belt.

The Cardinals made some great moves to the roster in the offseason. In free agency they brought in superstar defensive end J.J. Watt. While Watt may be getting older in age he is still one of the best defensive players in the NFL.

The Cardinals also made some solid moves in the draft that will help the team make a playoff run. Although these offseason moves were important, the two hidden gems on the roster will be vital in getting the team to the playoffs.

Here are the two hidden gems on the Cardinals roster.

2. Offensive lineman Josh Jones

Having offensive line depth is one of the most important things for a team. Josh Jones was a 2020 3rd round pick, but had a 1st round grade making him a steal in the draft. Jones has the ability to get out of his stance quickly and set blocks. He also is great at getting the second level block, which is rare for a young lineman. Most lineman take a few years to develop that skill, showcasing the potential Jones has.

While he may not start this year Jones could start in the near future. Look for Jones to be an important part of the offensive line in the next few years.

1. Running back Chase Edmonds

Chase Edmonds was the second back behind Kenyan Drake last season, but could be on the verge of a breakout campaign. He had an underrated season last year, as he had 448 yards rushing along with 402 yards receiving. Edmonds also had 5 total touchdowns during the season, which was great for a backup running back.

In free agency, the Cardinals brought in running back James Connor. Connor is having an up and down career and may be behind Edmonds in 2021. Even if Connor gets the starting nod over Edmonds it is still possible for Edmonds to make a big impact. Quarterback Murray seemed to trust Edmonds as he would often throw to him in the redzone. Having trust from the quarterback is huge and Edmonds should have a great 2021 season.

These two hidden gems will help the Cardinals make a run at the playoffs this season. Although the Cardinals have the talent, they need to make the playoffs they are in one of the toughest divisions. The division includes two playoff teams from last season in the Los Angeles Rams and the Seattle Seahawks. The other team in the division is the San Francisco 49ers who were in the Super Bowl just two seasons ago.
