Through the first several weeks of the season with the New Orleans Saints, former league MVP Adrian Peterson was growing quite frustrated with his backup role in limited action.

However, Peterson finally got his wish earlier this week with a change of scenery as he was traded to the Arizona Cardinals. It didn't take long for him to make an impact and show he still has tremendous ability.

In his first action in a Cardinals' uniform on Sunday afternoon, Peterson racked up 134 rushing yards on 26 carries with two rushing touchdowns in a 38-33 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

This performance from Peterson proved that he still has plenty left in the tank to be a highly productive running back, despite being 32-years old. He came out of the gate strong in the Cardinals' first drive of the game with 54 rushing yards, topped off by a 27-yard touchdown run.

It was his first 100-yard rushing game since 2015, and he easily surpassed the 81 yards on 27 carries that he had with the Saints in the first five weeks of the season. Following the game, Peterson was beyond ecstatic about the situation he currently finds himself in, stating that it was the opportunity he'd been waiting for, according to Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com.

“This is the opportunity that I've been waiting for. Once I got that call on Tuesday I was rejuvenated,” Peterson said after the game.

The Cardinals are heading into a bye week, which could allow for Peterson to further digest the Cardinals' complex offensive scheme and set the table for what may be a bounce-back year.
