St. Louis Cardinals legend Albert Pujols has authored many incredible moments throughout his illustrious career. From taking the sport by storm in his very first year, to the countless clutch hits he delivered in postseason games to his maddening year-to-year consistency, Pujols has had a career to remember. After a memorable final Home Run Derby, Pujols spoke to reporters ahead of the MLB All-Star Game, revealing ‘one of the best moments of his career”, per Marly Rivera of ESPN.

“You know, it was pretty emotional. I tried to hide it because I was still an athlete needing to go out there and compete. But it's probably going to be one of the top moments in my career.”

Albert Pujols is referring, of course, to the epic moment that occurred during the Home Run Derby. Each of the MLB All-Stars present at the derby gathered around the Cardinals' legend after what they believed to be his final appearance of the night.

Of course, Pujols went on to put on a show, advancing past the round. However, it was undoubtedly the most special moment of the night, seeing all of the MLB All-Stars huddled around perhaps one of the greatest to ever play the game.

And it was truly epic just how appreciative Pujols was of the gesture, saying the moment was “pretty emotional.” It was a proper way to honor the Cardinals star in the final Home Run Derby and MLB All-Star Game of his career.

It's something he'll never forget.
