The Arizona Cardinals have been searching for help at the wide receiver position for a few weeks now and appear to have found their man. Michael Crabtree was rumored to have signed a deal with the team a couple of weeks ago, but things fell through. Now, the two sides have re-engaged and seem to be close to finalizing a deal.

According to a report from Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the Cardinals are close to signing the veteran wide receiver.

Crabtree has had an interesting career in the NFL. He has had moments of greatness and other moments where he was labeled a bust. In the latter stage of his career, Crabtree is simply looking for a chance to prove that he can still play.

Arizona is set to begin a new era of football with head coach Kliff Kingsbury and rookie quarterback Kyler Murray leading the way. Crabtree is being brought in to provide the young signal-caller with a veteran presence that he can rely on. It is a match that could pay big dividends for a guy like Crabtree.

Last season with the Baltimore Ravens, Crabtree ended up catching 54 passes for 607 yards and three touchdowns. He may not have found the end zone very often, but he showed that he can still be a solid possession wide receiver.

All of that being said, it will be interesting to see what ends up happening for Crabtree in Arizona. The Cardinals obviously think he can still produce for them and this time, it appears the two sides will get a deal done.
