Following a slow start to free agency, the Arizona Cardinals have seemingly shifted their focus to their thin receiving corps. They have met with a number of potential pieces in former Buffalo Bills wide receiver Jordan Matthews and Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Brice Butler.

Both players make for intriguing options to help add some solid depth on the outside. According to NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport, already had an offer for Jordan prior to their meeting with Butler.

Former Cowboys WR Brice Butler visited the Cardinals today, source said. AZ also had an offer out to Jordan Matthews, who visited the Patriots recently.

Arizona has since managed to ink Butler to a two-year deal. However, it remains to be seen whether or not Matthews is considering heading West for the next stage in his career.

It has been a rough stretch for Matthews, to say the least. He had established himself early on as one of the most promising, young wideouts in the league during his first two seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles. However, he has been unable to mirror that production following the trade to Buffalo amidst an injury-plagued year. He recorded a career-low 25 receptions for 282 yards and a touchdown in 10 games before going on injured reserve.

Fortunately, it does not seem to have damaged his stock at this point in the offseason. Matthews has drawn plenty of quality suitors and has already met with the New England Patriots, Green Bay Packers, and the Cardinals. Needless to say, Arizona faces some stiff competition for his services
