The Arizona Cardinals are adding depth to their roster with the signing of free agent cornerback Quinton Dunbar.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Network confirmed the development, though Doug Kyed of Pro Football Focus reported that Dunbar will start off on the practice squad.

Defense is not an issue for the Cardinals, as they even rank among the best in the NFL to start the 2021 season. However, you can never have enough defense in a game where one key stop can make a difference between winning and losing.

Quinton Dunbar is not a franchise-altering signing, but he certainly gives the Cardinals extra depth as they try to maintain their winning streak on the campaign. Arizona is still undefeated after three weeks, beating the likes of the Tennessee Titans, Minnesota Vikings and Jacksonville Jaguars en route to the top of the NFC West alongside the Los Angeles Rams.

Dunbar played for the Washington Football Team from 2015 to 2019 before moving to the Seattle Seahawks in 2020. During his time in Washington, he played in 58 games (25 starts) and recorded nine interceptions on top of 35 passes defensed. Meanwhile, in six games for Seattle in the past season, he had one interception and five passes defended.

The 29-year-old appeared headed to the Detroit Lions before the season started, but things didn't work out and he was eventually released.

It remains to be seen how the Dunbar addition will impact the Cardinals, but they certainly need every improvement they can make as they face the Rams next Sunday in a crucial showdown among undefeated teams.
